Brentford Bring In De Souza

Brentford Football Club has announced the appointment of Jon De Souza as their new Youth Team Manager.

De Souza who joins the Bees after previously working in a similar role at Luton Town has been welcomed to Griffin Park by Head of Youth Ose Aibangee.

“We are delighted to have Jon on board,” said Aibangee.

“He is someone we have known about for a little while and he believes in what we are doing, that’s why he turned down two other clubs to come here.”

“Jon’s experience and expertise will be vital for us and for the players he will work with.”

“He has a lot of belief in Brentford and we believe he can do a great job for us.”

De Souza is keen to start work and knows exactly what his remit will be.

“My primary role is to get players to the first team, I did that at Luton and I believe I can come to a bigger club and get players through to the first team here,” said De Souza.

“There are lots of good things in place here and it is nice to come to a club where there is such an emphasis on developing young players and getting them in to the first team squad.”

“The first team are really involved with the youth team players and that has made me realise already that I have made the right choice.”

“I have seen already that the boys have a terrific attitude, they are very hard working and that’s all you can ask for,” he added.
