Northampton Town midfielder Michael Jacobs has joined Zamaretto League Premier Division Club Nuneaton Town on work experience.
Jacobs, who is currently a 2nd year Apprentice, made his senior debut for the Cobblers in the Johnstones Paint Trophy at Wycombe earlier this season but has struggled to force his way into the first team on a regular basis after signing professional terms earlier this season.
“I think this is a good move for Michael and will give him the chance for regular first team football,” said Cobblers boss Ian Sampson.
“Because of the weather and then because of the amount of first team matches we have had, we haven’t had too many Reserve team games lately and Michael needs regular football.”
“In any event, playing first team football beats playing Reserve team football.”
“This will be a good move for Michael’s development and I hope he does well for Nuneaton at the same time.”
