Boro Duo On England Duty In Algarve

Middlesbrough duo David Atkinson and Bruno Pilatos have been named in the England U17 squad which will travel to Portugal next week to compete in the Algarve Tournament.

Defender Atkinson and Pilatos, who can play in midfield or defence, are currently both first year Apprentices at Boro’s Academy.

John Peacock’s England squad will face France, Ukraine and the hosts over four days in a round-robin group as they aim to put the finishing touches to their preparations for the Elite Round of the UEFA European U17 Championship, which kicks-off in March.

After cruising through the first stage of Euro qualifying with three wins from three, Peacock’s side now face Slovakia, Sweden and Malta for a place in the finals this summer.

The Elite Round will be staged in England between 27th March and 1st April.
