Job Swap For Apprentices

Local training provider, Starting Off, teamed up with Northampton Town to organise an Apprentice job swap as part of National Apprenticeship Week.

Carl Leeson from Cosworth, and Chris Martin who is about to start work at Intersoccer, spent the morning experiencing what it is like to be an Apprentice Footballer.

They cleaned some boots, joined in with training and helped organise the pitch for the first team players.

In the afternoon second year Apprentices, Liam Ruddick and Tom McGowan were given a tour of Cosworth’s Northampton facilities by Carl Leeson to get an insight other types of careers at this major local employer.

Sean Parrish, Youth team coach at Northampton Town was pleased with the day and said,

“Starting Off have been Youth team sponsors for the last 5 years. Having a sponsor who can organise these sorts of experiences really helps us to develop the lads’ understanding of the world outside of football.”
