Sordell Strikes As Rovers Steer Clear Of Drop Zone

Tranmere Rovers moved out of the League One relegation zone after a deserved 2-1 victory over Leyton Orient on Saturday.

Rovers goals came courtesy of two men at the opposite ends of their careers, veteran Ian Thomas-Moore and former Apprentice Marvin Sordell.

Thomas-Moore now 33 years old opened the scoring on 27 minutes with a fine angled drive from 20 yards out.

Then on-loan Watford forward Sordell who is still only 18 years of age added a second on 35 minutes, placing a left footed effort beyond Orient keeper Jamie Jones.

Jonathan Tehoue’s 86th minute strike made it a nervy finish though but Rovers did enough to hang on for a valuable three points.
