Shrewsbury Town Sign Up Five

Shrewsbury Town have announced that five of its Youth team players have accepted offers of professional contracts at the Club.

Youth team captain Jon Taylor (midfield), Danny Taylor (defence), Tom Bradshaw (forward), Connor Goldson (defence) and Hakan Duyan (goalkeeper) have all signed on professional terms after graduating from the Club’s Youth ranks.

Shrewsbury Town Chairman Roland Wycherley is delighted by the signings – which have seen the Shrews offer more professional deals to Apprentices than ever before. In a statement he said:

“Of major importance to the future of the Club has been the support of a successful, evolving Youth system and strategy. The fruits of this investment are now being harvested with the Youth system producing players who have become members of the first team squad and have made important first team appearances.”

He added:

“This season we have offered first year professional contracts to more Youth team players than ever before. Tom Bradshaw, Danny Taylor, Jon Taylor and Hakan Duyan have graduated from our scholarship programme and Connor Goldson has been awarded a professional contract midway through his scholarship agreement.”

“This follows on from last season when Harry Hooman and Andre Gray were awarded first year professional contracts. I am delighted with the progress of our Youth system under the guidance of Dave Hughes and his team.”
