Scunthorpe United youngster Niall Canavan has signed a new three-year contract with the Championship side.
Canavan, 19, made his professional debut for The Iron last season after coming through the club’s Apprenticeship programme and went on to make 10 appearances.
The young defender made his debut for Scunthorpe as a substitute in the 4-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday on 22 August.
Three days later he made his first start and scored in the 2-1 League Cup win over Swansea City.
