Rising Stars Sign Pro With Robins

Cheltenham Town have been boosted by the news that four of their rising young stars have signed one-year deals with the Club.

All four have come through the Club’s Youth ranks, which boss Mark Yates believes can only be beneficial.

“It’s good for the Club, we want people who care about the place,” Yates said.

Youngsters, Theo Lewis, Kyle Haynes and Jake Lee, all 18, and 19 year old Josh Emery make up the quartet and all four have already made an impression on the first team.

Lewis made 9 starts and 8 substitute appearances last term, scoring his first goal for the Club away at Torquay in the FA Cup.

Haynes made 8 starts and 9 sub appearances on the way to winning the Apprentice of the Year Award for League Two, while Lee and Emery have featured five times between them.

“They’re four good young players, they’re young and Theo and Kyle have had a fair bit of experience already and Jake and Josh have also had a taste. They’ve done the first bit, they’ve got themselves a professional contract,” Yates said.

“They’ll be a big part of the squad. It’s a great chance for them to be part of a young squad anyway, and hopefully one or two of them can force their way in to the team.”
