Mackreth Aiming To Mark First Team Bow

Tranmere Rovers’ Jack Mackreth aims to follow in the footsteps of Joe Collister and Luke Waterfall now that he is the youngest player in the Rovers first team squad.

Collister (2009-10) and Waterfall (2008-09) both made their first team debut’s in previous seasons when they were the Club’s youngest players.

Mackreth who is hoping to make his mark on Les Parry’s first team said:

“I hope to make my debut during the season and make a few appearances, but most of all, if I get a chance in the first team I just want to do as well as I can and give 100%.”

“I’ve been getting wound up a bit by the older pros but it has been enjoyable and it’s good to be back. As the youngest lad in the squad I’m sure I’ll get wound up a bit, but they’re good with me really!”

“It has been a tough few days with a lot of running, but it’s just part of pre-season. I just want to get fit, get match fit and get my touch back. I’ve been bored over the summer with nothing to do so I was pleased to come back!”
