Vale Boss Happy With Youngsters

Port Vale Manager Micky Adams has said he is happy with the progress made by teenagers Matthew Bell, Anthony Malbon and Sam Morsy during pre-season.

Malbon scored in three consecutive games of Vales pre-season programme while Morsy notched in Vale’s first two fixtures.

Speaking about the trio, Vale boss Adams said:

“All three have matured in the time that they’ve been with us in terms of the training they’ve been doing, they know they’ve got to grow up fast and they’ve settled in very well.”

He added, “It’s the early stages of their professional careers and we’ll bring them on nice and slow.”

Adams’ comments were also echoed by Club captain Tommy Fraser who added:

“We’ve got three good kids that have come through that I think can definitely progress.”

Morsy, Malbon and Bell were all named as substitutes by Adams in League Two last season, although Morsy was the only player to be involved on the pitch, making one appearance from the bench.
