Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Preston North End Youngster Adam Barton.
The 19 year old midfielder made his debut for North End in a 3-2 home win over Scunthorpe United last April and has since become a key component of the North End side.
A number of other Premier League Clubs including Bolton Wanderers, Stoke City and Sunderland are thought to be keeping tabs on Barton.
The Anfield Club have been plotting raids on several youngsters in a bid to return to their old philosophy of grooming top young talent.
North End are thought to want £5million for the Blackburn born player but Liverpool hope to lower the price with add-ons.
