Taylor Says Rovers Can Reach The Top

Tranmere defender Ash Taylor says Rovers can still climb the League One table despite back-to-back defeats at Peterborough and Brentford.

Rovers currently sit 17th in the League One table four points above 19th placed Yeovil Town who they face on Saturday.

Had Rovers managed to win both of their last two games (both away from home) they would have been within touching distance of a play-off spot as it is they remain in the bottom half of the table but Taylor is confident that they can push away from the bottom.

“We’re still positive we can push our way up the table with some good results,” he told BBC Radio Merseyside.

“We’ve got some home games coming up and we’re playing teams around us so hopefully we can pick up the points.”

The 20 year old who can operate at centre-half or in midfield, was recently touted as a future captain of the Prenton Park Club by Manager Les Parry and is his hopeful that the squad’s development mirrors his own to push the Club onwards.

“I think we’re quite a strong team and even the players on the bench are willing to put in a performance as well,” Taylor added.

“I know I’ve developed a lot since being a Youth team player and I’ve come on a lot. I’m more experienced and I’m learning more from the game.”
