Stevenage Install Paul Hilton As Head Of Youth

Stevenage Football Club have appointed Paul Hilton as their new Head of Youth.

Hilton arrives from Upton Park where he has been West Ham United’s Assistant Academy Director since 2006.

As a player Hilton started his career at Bury where he earned a reputation as a goal-scoring centre half with 39 goals in 148 appearances for The Shakers. He then moved on to West Ham but injury forced his career to a premature end.

He then took on the role of youth and reserve coach at West Ham and was part of the Hammers back-room team that oversaw the development of Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand and Joe Cole from promising schoolboys to established Premier League players.

Hilton has also spent time at Ipswich Town and Gillingham as Head of Youth.

On his appointment to his new role at the ‘Boro’ he told the club’s website:

“I am delighted to come in and be the head of what is a new centre of excellence. Hopefully we can start to produce players in the not too distant future.”
