Torquay United have named 2nd Year Apprentice Kirtys Mackenzie in their Reserve Team to face Crawley Town in the Football Combination at Plainmoor today (2pm).
Mackenzie, who is the only Apprentice in the side, earns his chance after impressing at youth level.
The young Londoner will play in the centre of the Gulls’ defence allowing former Leicester City youth player Lathaniel Rowe-Turner to resume his normal role at left-back.
The Gulls will hope that Mackenzie can add some much needed steel to their backline after conceding 17 goals in their last two matches including eight away to Crawley Town and nine at Cheltenham Town last week.
