Clark Tells Media To Continue Rhodes Speculation

Huddersfield Town Manager Lee Clark has admitted that he wouldn’t mind seeing more speculation over the future of star striker Jordan Rhodes throughout the January transfer window.

The Terriers frontman is thought to be attracting the interest of Championship and Premier League Clubs after a scintillating start to the season bagging bagging 22 goals in 23 appearances for the League One side.

West Ham have reportedly already seen an approach rebuffed by Town who insist that the talented 21 year-old is not for sale.

The majority of managers react angrily when their key players are linked with a transfer away but Clark a different view on the issue believing that the Scotland international is thriving in the spotlight.

“I don’t know if he has taken any notice of it, but he is getting better and better with each game. His overall game has been superb, not just the goals, his hold-up play, his movement,” Clark told Sky Sports News.

“I know, Jordan knows, the owner knows and everyone inside the football club knows that come February 1st he will be our player.”

“If he is seeing the speculation, he probably is as it’s in the media, I think it’s given him a boost and why not?”

“As a young player, when you see these clubs from the Premier League who have got top-quality managers being interested in you and talking about figures into the millions, it can only give you confidence and Jordan is using it in the right way and we are benefiting as a team.”

“Keep it going, I say. Keep it going every day. If we are getting the benefits because he is full of confidence, then all well and good.”
