Canaries Swoop For Posh Starlet Clarke

Peterborough United teenager Flynn Clarke has earned a move to the Premier League after joining newly-promoted Norwich City for an undisclosed fee.

The 18-year-old, who was named in LFE’s ‘The 11’ in February, featured 11 times across four competitions as a second-year apprentice during the 2020/21 season.

The Scotland Under-19 international made his debut in the Carabao Cup and amassed four appearances in Sky Bet League One, while it was the Papa John’s Trophy where he made the biggest impact, scoring in all three group games and being awarded Player of the Round.

“This is a great club and I feel absolutely delighted to sign here. I’m over the moon,” midfielder Clarke told the club website. “Norwich have a reputation for the work they do with their younger players. They try to make a pathway for them and that really opened my eyes and grabbed my attention.

“The club also recently got promoted to the Premier League, so it feels like a no-brainer for me. I’d like to try to make a breakthrough to the senior team, I’d like to show all the fans, staff and players around me what I’m capable of.”

Clarke will initially form part of the club’s development and academy setup.
