O’Driscoll Keen For McGugan To Fulfil Potential

Nottingham Forest Manager Sean O’Driscoll thinks Lewis McGugan can go from strength to strength as long as he is prepared to work hard to improve.

McGugan scored twice in Forest’s 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday after coming on as a second half substitute.

And O’Driscoll is keen to see more from the youngster who came though Forest’s acclaimed Academy and who he had previously tried to sign.

“I’m a big fan of Lewis – in fact I’ve tried to take him on loan from Forest many times while I was at Doncaster,” O’Driscoll told the clubs website.

“When I came in and told him about it, I said ‘You keep falling out with managers’ and he said: ‘No, they fall out with me’.

“He just needs to tidy up his game and then he’ll get the opportunity to do the things he wants to do and he will go from strength to strength. Sometimes his goals hide the fact that he does things that he needs to improve on.”

“But I thought he came into the team last season and was excellent.”
