Luke Hyam and Josh Carson Provide Hope For Hutchings

Ipswich Town’s Caretaker manager Chris Hutchings has revealed he was impressed by the impact of Town youngsters Luke Hyam and Josh Carson at the weekend.

Midfielders Hyam and Carson are both graduates of the club’s Academy but had fallen down the pecking order in recent weeks. Hyam’s last appearance came in the 1-1 draw at Barnsley in September while Carson’s last outing also came in a draw at Brighton on 2 October.

But in Ipswich’s first outing since Paul Jewell’s departure the youthful duo were restored to the first XI and while Ipswich fell to a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday, Hutchings was impressed by the pair.

“I was pleased with the performances of Luke Hyam and Josh Carson, coming back into the team after a spell out and doing well,” Hutchings told the Club website.

“They both played well and gave us a bit more energy. I want to see them maintain that and to keep pushing to stay in the team.”

“They were both bright sparks for us on Saturday in what was obviously a very disappointing day all round. We can take the positives from the young lads’ performances and I was pleased with them both.”
