Media Officer – Preston based full-time (hybrid), permanent
League Football Education (LFE) is looking for a Media Officer who can create and deliver effective multi-media content to our learners, other key stakeholders and staff.
LFE was established in 2004 by The English Football League (EFL) and the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) to deliver the education of 16 to 18-year-old apprentice footballers at EFL clubs.
LFE works with apprentices, clubs, colleges and PFA coaches to provide a wide ranging and ambitious education and development programme with responsibilities extending to the delivery of life skills to U9-U23 players, parents and club staff.
LFE’s Life Skills programme covers emotional well-being, equality & diversity, finance, cardiac and sexual health awareness, social media, talent transfer, resilience, personal development and lifestyle & education on key subjects such as gambling, alcohol and drugs.
Support is also provided after the completion of the apprenticeship, including tracking & monitoring of all past apprentices, assessment trials to try to help out of contract players gain a club, assistance in securing USA Soccer Scholarships or University places and European links with clubs in Spain and Sweden.
In partnership with The EFL and EFL Trust, LFE also delivers a CT Study Programme, offering 16 to 18 year-old (male and female) learners the opportunity to study sport-related qualifications, while representing their club at football or futsal. Learners similarly benefit from a full range of wider personal development, Life Skills and transition support.
As the Media Officer you will contribute to the overall Communications and PR strategy, going on to implement key elements of an annual Communications and PR Plan through coordinated, relevant, engaging and high-quality resources across a range of print and digital media platforms.
This role is suited to someone in the early stages of their career looking to build their knowledge, skills and experience. The role will provide access to high profile club academy environments and the opportunity to tell the wider stories of those being supported and developed within this system. You will also engage with staff across LFE, other key stakeholders, and our partner agencies.
You will have a broad ranging set of responsibilities, giving you a great platform to learn and develop. Training and support for your development will be provided and as you grow, so will your role and responsibilities.
Educated to A-Level (or equivalent Level 3 qualification) as a minimum, you will be committed to telling the broader stories of the learner experiences, especially through video and image driven content, have a keen eye for detail, be creative, well organised and able to deliver against tight deadlines.
