Barnet’s Jamal Hackett and Huddersfield Town’s Joe Wright have been awarded the Create Your Legacy delegate incentive prizes.
Last month’s careers event, held at St George’s Park in Burton-upon-Trent, saw close to one thousand footballers and other elite athletes learn more about alternative career pathways and the importance of having a ‘Plan B’.
Hackett and Wright were nominated by the event’s sixty exhibitors as the most engaging delegates and will now receive a £100 Amazon Voucher.
“I’m glad to win the prize but more importantly I’ve got a better understanding of what I can turn to if football doesn’t work out for me,” Hackett told LFE.
Huddersfield defender Wright was also grateful for the news. He said “It’s a surprise with so many others getting involved on the day.”
“Hearing stories from Matt Holland and Dougie Freedman had a big impact because it’s easy to put off thinking about anything other than playing professionally but as they told us, it would be stupid not to prepare for the future.”
