Pratt Crowned Fantasy Football Competition Winner

Bury striker Tom Pratt has scooped an end of season bonus by winning LFE’s Fantasy Football competition.

The Droylsden based forward who made his debut for the Shakers towards the end of last season’s fraught League One campaign won the £250 top prize after finishing 17 points ahead of Rotherham United’s Reece Lucas and 18 points ahead of fellow Millers player Connor Johnson.

And the 18-year-old who made his senior bow in April’s local derby with Oldham admits he’s still mystified by winning the award after registering for the competition later than most of his rivals.

“When we started the competition we did it because it fits in with part of our NVQ work around budgeting. A lot of the lads at Bury, myself included started that work a couple of weeks after everyone else so we were playing catch-up from the start,” Pratt told LFE.

Pratt who wasn’t even in contention at Christmas reached the summit of the Fantasy table during Spring and never looked likely to relinquish his grip on top spot once there.

“I didn’t even realise that there was a cash prize involved when I started playing but as soon as I became aware of it I redoubled my efforts,” continued Pratt.

“It’s great to win the cash prize it’ll certainly come in handy over the summer.”

Lucas and Johnson collect cheques for £150 and £100 for their second and third place finishes.
