John Stones Eclipses Andrea Pirlo with Panenka Penalty

John Stones is clearly relishing his time at Everton if his penalty taking is anything to go by.

The youngster who was signed from Barnsley in January dinked a cheeky chipped penalty (scroll down to see below) past keeper Marco Storari during the Blues shootout win over the Juventus.

The 19-year-old’s ‘Panenka’ style penalty came moments after playmaker Andrea Pirlo had fired wide from the spot.

Pirlo famously outfoxed Joe Hart in last summer’s European Championships with his own take on Antonin Panenka’s classic penalty.

Tim Howard then saved Federico Peluso’s effort to earn the Toffees a place in the final of a mini-tournament, held in San Francisco, against either Real Madrid or LA Galaxy.

Kevin Miralles had earlier given the Premier League side the lead after an hour but Kwadwo Asamoah equalised in the closing stages with a stunning left-foot drive.
