They went away with the three points thanks to a Wes Houlahan penalty. Preston were extremely unlucky. Mark Clattenburg failing to give a penalty when Neil Mellor was fouled closer the six-yard box then the edge of the box. A free kick was the result rather than a penalty. Paul McKenna hit the bar in the dying seconds but Blackpool snatched the 3 points.
