Following on from Joe O’Connor earlier today, Gabe Billington has also signed his first professional contract with Exeter City.
The midfielder is currently on loan at Plymouth Parkway and made his professional debut for Exeter in a 2-1 Papa Johns Trophy triumph against Southampton U21s earlier in the season.
Gabe said: “It’s an absolutely great feeling.
“I’m so grateful for all the work everyone has done for me since I joined the academy aged nine, all the way to now, and to all of my teammates.
“My journey has been amazing, I was a young lad just signed from a tournament, and now I’ve worked my way up. The coaches have been brilliant with me, they’re always pushing me to perform to the best of my ability, and making us better people as well.
“I want to play for the first team in front of a packed stadium.”
Head of Coaching, Brad Lee-Miller added: “Gabe is an outstanding young man, polite and well mannered and very talented. He has excellent receiving skills and handles the ball well, and he can move through the midfield.
“He had a long journey with us, and his journey has been amazing in terms of his work rate and his ethic and endeavour to become better each year. He thoroughly deserves this opportunity.”
