Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust (Playing Safely) are the latest organisation to sign up to exhibit at Create Your Legacy next month.
Playing Safely is a Pennine Care health awareness programme delivered into the academies of professional football clubs to academy scholars aged between 16 and 18.
The current delivery is on the theme of sexual health and consists of two 90-minute sessions that addresses participant’s knowledge and understanding of key sexual health themes.
The programme includes practical sessions on using condoms, conducting a testicular self-examination and a Chlamydia screen. By bringing in local sexual health service providers to support the session, the project creates links/pathways between the playing side of each club, the club Community Trust and local sexual health services.
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health and community services to people living in the boroughs of Bury, Oldham and Rochdale. We also provide mental health services in Stockport and Tameside and Glossop, as well as parts of the High Peak, East Lancashire and North Manchester.
