Addicks Snap Up Taylor

Charlton Athletic have announced the signing of former Wolverhampton Wanderers apprentice Terry Taylor from Burton Albion for an undisclosed fee.

The midfielder had attracted interest from a number of Championship clubs this summer, yet has put pen-to-paper on a three-year contract with the south-east London club.

Discussing his move to the capital, Taylor said: “It feels amazing. Having a look at the ground, meeting everyone at the training ground, it feels really good so I can’t wait to get going. I think the big thing that sticks out to me was the ambition, his [Dean Holden’s] plan and how he plans to execute it this season and just where the club is headed, in the general direction, I think there’s a really good feel to it.”

His new boss Dean Holden added: “Terry is a fantastic young talent and we’re really pleased he has chosen to join Charlton with plenty of interest from other clubs. He’s got a good eye for a pass and is an excellent set-piece taker. He is really good off the ball in terms of his mobility around the pitch, his pressing and his ability to win the ball back. I’m looking forward to working with him.”
