Rochdale Send Youngsters On ‘Character Building’ Loan

Rochdale have sent Nyal Bell (pictured) and Billy Hasler-Cregg out on a ‘character building’ loan to Evo-Stik First Division North side Droylsden FC.

The pair, who graduated from the clubs apprenticeship programme this summer are yet to break into the Dale first team this season.

Manager Keith Hill said: “I want players to mature – I can’t wait for players to mature in their own time. The football environment is harsh and we’re looking for these young men to grow up quickly and accept their responsibilities.”

“One thing I do know is that they’ll need to have that responsibility at Droylsden. Once they settle down they should become outstanding players for Droylsden. The loan is going to be a measure of their character and that’s what we’re trying to build. We’re trying to bring young players, who’ve got a really strong character, into the footballing world.”
