LFE’s Learner of the Term award celebrates the efforts of students who have made excellent academic progress and a positive contribution at their Club Community Organisation. The winner has earnt a £200 Amazon voucher.

Winner – Kaiden Brooks (Wigan Athletic Club Community Organisation)

Kaiden Brooks of Wigan Athletic Club Community Organisation has displayed exceptional dedication and commitment throughout his time on the programme. His 100% attendance and punctuality highlights his reliability and professionalism – key attributes for a future career in the sports industry.

Academically, Kaiden has excelled, consistently achieving distinction grades in his assignments. His outstanding work ethic and positive attitude have been instrumental in his success, allowing him to further develop his academic knowledge and practical application in coaching and football development.

Kaiden’s ambition is to pursue a career as an elite football coach or work within the professional football industry and it’s safe to say he is already making impressive strides towards this goal. Kaiden has secured a place at the University of South Wales to study Community Football Coaching & Development – a testament to his dedication and future aspirations.

Beyond his studies, Kaiden has actively sought out experiences to enhance his coaching skills. He was selected for a coaching work experience trip to Munich with the Manchester United Foundation which is a significant achievement. His journey in coaching started before he enrolled on the Club Community Organisation programme with the Latics, volunteering weekly with the Manchester United Foundation’s ‘Street Reds’ football sessions. He has continued this valuable commitment alongside his studies at Wigan.

Kaiden’s story was also recently highlighted in a media feature about life as a Wigan Athletic Club Community Organisation learner, further showcasing the positive impact of his journey so far.

“I’m developing a lot of employability skills by completing this course and it’s making me look ahead to what I hope will be a long career in the sports industry” said Kaiden.

Phil Corrigan, Football and Education Manager at Wigan, added: “Kaiden’s dedication, resilience, and enthusiasm make him deserving of this award, and his future in the football industry looks incredibly bright.”
