Edwards Joins Dale

Rochdale FC

Rochdale Manager Keith Hill has strengthened his goalkeeping options following the signing of ex Apprentice goalkeeper Matthew Edwards after his release from League One side Leeds United.

The League Two Club, who have been involved in the play-offs in the last two seasons, moved swiftly to secure the services of the 6ft 3in 18-year-old stopper who will join up with Dale on 1st July.

Edwards told the Club’s official website:

“I’m looking forward to it. I have met with a few faces around the ground and it has a good vibe about it.”

“I already knew (coach) Ian Wilcox from the goalkeeping coaching at Leeds and it was he who introduced me to the Club.”
