Latics Gaffer In No Hurry To Sell

Oldham Athletic FC

Oldham Manager Dave Penney is currently fending off speculation surrounding former Apprentice Deane Smalley and midfielder Chris Taylor who are reported to be targets for Blackpool and Leeds respectively.

Smalley made the step up from youth to professional football when he initially signed one year deal in summer 2007. The striker established himself in the first team last season after the Club signed him on a three year deal in May 2008.

The Latics Manager wants the pair to stay and has confirmed that he is not looking to sell any of his players to rival Clubs.

Penney is more concerned with adding to his squad than losing key players. He told the Club’s official website:

“There’s been all sorts of speculation recently, but if something has happened then I certainly don’t know about it.”

“We are not looking to sell any players now and that’s it as far as I’m concerned.”
