Tranmere Rovers are the latest Club to engage in LFE’s ASE Activity pack with the Clubs Apprentice players taking time out to talk to local school children about the concept of “Kick it Out”.
The Year 5 pupils from Cathcart Street Primary School in Birkenhead were treated to a presentation and Question & Answer session by the young stars at the Wirral Clubs’ ‘Playing for Success’ centre.
The Apprentices covered topics such as Discrimination, Prejudice & Stereotyping, Racism, Sexism & Disabilities and the Core Priorities of Kick it Out before highlighting some good examples of work that has been undertaken in professional football to promote inclusiveness.
Long serving Youth Development Officer Warwick Rimmer was happy with the Youth teamers contribution and stated:
“The day was of benefit to both the local school children and our Apprentices. The children and teachers from Cathcart Street Primary School were delighted to listen to the lads talk about such an important topic as “Kick it Out” and engage with our Apprentices – who they see as potentially the first teamers of the future.”
“The children were captivated by the lads’ ‘star’ status and our Apprentices were equally pleased to be putting something back.”
