Southend United have completed the loan signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back Scott Malone.
The defender has moved to Roots Hall for a month and went straight in the Shrimpers Squad for last night’s away defeat at Tranmere Rovers.
Malone, 18, is an England Under-19 international who has progressed through Wolves’ Academy set-up.
Although the youngster is yet to turn out for the Premier League side, he has experienced first team football with Hungarian outfit Ujpest.
On signing a professional deal at Molineux in February 2009 he was immediately loaned to the Hungarian First Division side where he made seven appearances, scoring once, and helped Ujpest to qualify for the Europa League after finishing second in the table.
That form saw him make his international debut at Under-19 level during England’s 2-1 win over Russia at Shrewsbury Town’s ProStar Stadium in September.
