Watford’s Lee Hodson has signed a new three-year professional contract after making a fantastic start to the season.
The 2nd-year Apprentice has committed his future to the Club, after impressing the coaching staff with his mature performances so far this campaign.
A local lad from Borehamwood, Hodson, has progressed through the ranks at the Club’s Academy and first came on to the first team radar when he made his debut in the Carling Cup clash at Underhill with Barnet in August of this year.
He then appeared in the following round at Leeds United and has not looked back since.
Hodson took his place in the starting eleven against Swansea City in the Championship in September and has since become a permanent fixture in the right back berth.
The defender who is still eligible for Youth Cup duty joins the likes of Ross Jenkins and Adrian Mariappa, who have both made the jump to the senior team from the Academy in recent times.
To date, the youngster has made 14 first-team appearances this season, he made his debut in the final game of last season, coming on as a substitute against Derby County at Vicarage Road.
The defender is currently on international duty with Northern Ireland’s Under-21 squad preparing to face European Champions Germany and the Czech Republic over the forthcoming week in their UEFA European Under 21 Championship qualifying campaign
