Smith Pens New Deal With Canaries

Korey Smith

Former Apprentice Korey Smith has signed a new contract at Norwich City, committing his long-term future to the League One Club.

The 18 year old midfielder has become a first-team regular under Paul Lambert this term and bagged his first goal for the Canaries in their recent victory over Wycombe.

The highly-rated youngster has penned a new deal which is set to run until 2013 and Smith admits he was only too happy to stay with Norwich and hopes he will be a fixture at Carrow Road for many years to come.

Speaking to the Club’s official website he said:

“Obviously I’m very proud and delighted to have signed my second professional contract and hopefully there will be more to come. The manager has put faith in me and hopefully I’ve got a bright future with Norwich City.”

Manager Paul Lambert said:

“It’s great for the Club to secure a promising young player like Korey and it’s great for him that he wants to continue his development with us. He is part of a nucleus of good young players we have here at the moment and he has worked very hard.”
