Grimsby Town have boosted their defense with the signing of ASE graduate Oliver Lancashire on loan from Southampton.
Lancashire has joined the League Two side for an initial month and was added straight into the starting eleven for Saturday’s game at Bournemouth.
The centre-half will help to fill the void in the Mariners squad created by Ryan Bennett’s move to Peterborough United, while Rob Atkinson and Matt Heywood are both injured.
The former England Under-19 international has made 15 appearances for the Saints since making his debut last season when he was sent off against Queens Park Rangers.
He has featured three times under Alan Pardew this season, but has not played a first-team game for Southampton for over two months.
