UniBond League Division One South Club Chasetown have added a new striker to their squad with the loan signing of Alex Titchiner from Coca-Cola League Two side Crewe Alexandra.
Former Apprentice Titchiner is in his first season of professional football, and comes to the Scholars on a month’s loan from Gresty Road as cover for the absence of injured Dean Perrow, Reece Styche and Grant Ryan.
Manager Charlie Blakemore said:
“I am really pleased we have signed Alex and would like to thank Crewe and Alex for making it happen. Neil Baker, the Chief Scout, and his assistant George Egleton at Crewe have been a massive help. He is a young lad who has great potential and Crewe see this is an ideal opportunity for Alex play games and help his development.”
“He has represented the Welsh Under-17 team and is an exciting young player. I have been searching for a striker for the past week following injuries to Dean Perrow, Grant Ryan and Reece Styche. I am really looking forward to working with Alex – he is a great signing for the Club.”
Titchiner went straight into the Chasetown squad for last Saturday’s visit to Lancaster City in the FA Trophy which ended as a 1 -1 draw.
