Malone Keen To Impress For Shrimpers

Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Scott Malone is hoping to impress during his loan spell at Southend United.

The young defender is keen to be remembered in the same light as Wanderers team-mates Charlie Mulgrew and George Friend who have previously had similar spells with the Essex club.

The 18 year old who has come through the Apprenticeship programme at Wolves is spending a month at Roots Hall and speaking to the Southend Echo, he said:

“There are a few of us who have come here from Wolves and hopefully I can do as well as they did for Southend.”

“I actually spoke to George before coming down and he said it was a really good place to come and play. He said he would have liked to have stopped for longer but there was nothing he could do about it and he had to go back to Wolves.”
