Bennett Adapting To Life At Posh

On-loan Peterborough United defender Ryan Bennett would be happy to work with former Manager Darren Ferguson again.

The 19 year old, former Apprentice of the Year for League Two is currently on loan from Grimsby Town after being signed by Ferguson.

Speaking to BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, Bennett said:

“It [Ferguson’s departure] was a worry, because Darren brought me here and I thought he would be here for a while.”

“I was looking forward to working with Darren and so to lose him was a big thing. Hopefully we can work together again in the future.”

Bennett who joined The Posh with a view to a permanent deal at the end of October made his debut in a 3-1 defeat at Newcastle just three days before Ferguson departed London Road.

Under new boss Mark Cooper, Bennett has since played against Sheffield United and Middlesbrough as The Posh look to climb the table by any means possible.

“I’ve played three games and played with three different centre-halves alongside me,” he said. “It’s a totally new back four so it will take, but I think we can adapt quickly.”

“Some people might not like it (style of football), but sometimes it’s what you need to do to get results. Given our current situation it’s not about performances, we need results.”
