Match day again on Saturday, and the penultimate game before the league started. Coincidentally, Rochdale is the team who we open our season up against next week, so it’s a good chance to scout the opponents before the match that truly matters. Quirky and me did our normal rehab and then Quirk set up a weights circuit before we went to watch the game. Having been injured for so long Quirks has now turned into an absolute muscle machine. Always looking at himself in the mirror when he gets the chance! I think he’ll want to be a Chippendale at this rate!
After the weights we iced up and then went out to watch the second half. Much to our disbelief, the young side were putting on a monumental display and were leading 3-0 with goals from Aaron McCarthy and 2 from Adam Barton. They managed to hold on to that lead and record a great result, and give us a slight edge going into next week’s season opener.
After that it was off to Deepdale to watch the first team in the first match of the Championship season. Norwich were the visitors in an intriguing opening fixture. North End were by far the better team and were very unlucky not to go away with all three points. The score finishing 0-0 for what may be looked back upon as two points lost!
