It’s been a long time since I’ve written a blog but I’m glad to be back and I will keep you updated with what’s happening in an around the training ground again!
I won’t go back on myself and tell you about what’s happened throughout the past month or two but I will continue on from here.
I will start with the Youth Cup draw that took place on Friday… Leading us to draw West Brom at home which we all know will be a tough visit. We hope the game will be played at St Andrews so it will be a great experience for those who haven’t played there already!
We have had an awful lot of injuries since the start of the season which has led to a lot of youngsters playing up for the youth team, which always asks the question of are they good enough and can they step up to the plate and produce what they already do for their own age group. Saying that, every one of the youngsters that has come in has done well and they’ve all done themselves no harm at all.
We got of to a slow start during the season followed by a great unbeaten run of four games where we found ourselves in a good position. However, we lost that momentum and lost a couple of games by not taking our chances.
On a personal note I haven’t played much youth team football this season I have been involved with the under 21’s which is a positive.
Also I feel that now everyone is on the mend and back into full training, we can start to gel more and lead up to the Youth Cup as strong as possible by producing good performers in the league.
This weekend I didn’t play in the game against Sheffield Wednesday through injury, but the lads played well as a unit and created chances too. The game finished 1-1.
There is a game during the week against Nottingham Forest which will allow those who have been out of action to get some minutes under their belt, because there is also no league game at the weekend either.
So as I said, its good to be back writing to you again and I will keep you updated with how the week goes.
