Barnet are set to finalise a deal for 19 year old Robins striker Jake Hyde.
Hyde has already trained with the London Club and was expected to tie up his move to Underhill early this week.
Bees Manager Ian Hendon watched the forward playing in Swindon’s reserve team before his release in May.
He has been keeping tabs on Hyde ever since and is looking forward to working with him. Hendon told the Club’s website:
“He impressed me when I saw him play last season, he will be a good addition to our squad.”
Hyde signed a professional contract with Swindon in February 2008 and later spent time on loan with Weymouth in the Blue Square Premier.
He is excited about the prospect of playing for Barnet, adding:
“It will be a new experience for me. Barnet would be only the second Club I’ve signed a contract with.”
Hyde trained with the Barnet squad on their first day back for pre-season training last Wednesday.
ASE graduate Hyde was one of nine fellow Youth team players who signed 18-month professional contracts with League One side Swindon in 2008.
