Football's Next StarThe Manchester trials for Football’s Next Star brought out the cream of the North West’s young talent to put their skills to the test and seize the once in a lifetime chance for glory.

Former England and Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp was on hand to watch the action pitch-side and to offer some encouraging words to the young players.

The trials consisted of skills tests designed to critically evaluate every aspect of the individual’s game including left and right foot passing/shooting, speed, passing/shooting accuracy and dribbling/turning.

Players were monitored and scored on each of the tests and the highest scoring individuals were selected to go through to a deciding match.
