John Schofield feels he is the right man for the job following Martin Allen’s recent departure from Cheltenham Town.
Former Head of Youth at Lincoln City, Schofield was placed in temporary charge of the Robins a little over a month ago and has been invited to apply for the role after Allen’s exit was confirmed last week.
Speaking on speculation surrounding the role, Schofield said:
“I can’t get any more footballing qualifications than I have got. I hear all the ‘cheap option’ shouts, but nobody knows what salary I am on, so how does anyone know it’s the cheap option?”
“If I’m asked to continue doing it, great. If not and another man comes in I am quite adept at doing any job at the Football Club.”
