Apprentice of the Month – January 2009

Congratulations go to Daniel Shelley of Crewe Alexandra as the January 2009 Apprentice of the Month.

The 18 year old defender has been with the Club since the age of 14 and has risen through the youth ranks to join a strong Academy squad.

During his first season as an Apprentice Daniel’s football development was blighted by a back injury but since making a full recovery he has proven his worth by stepping up to join the senior ranks and December 2008 saw his first team debut.

Following this he scored his first goal on just his second appearance in Crewe’s FA Cup match against Millwall in January.

Off the pitch Daniel has made great strides in the framework with a distinction profile in the BTEC National Certificate and continues to apply himself to the education elements despite his first team commitments.
