Apprentice of the Month – March 2011

Congratulations go to Teddy Nesbitt of Southend United who has been named as March 2011’s Apprentice of the Month.

When Teddy joined the programme in 2009, he came with very little in terms of qualifications, as a result of this it was acknowledged that he would struggle to complete the framework.

Nevertheless, Teddy knuckled down and with the support of his college tutor successfully completed the Level 2 Diploma. In his second year Teddy then went on to achieve the Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma along with both Key Skills and is also on target to complete the coaching award.

Two weeks ago, Teddy was rewarded for all his hard work when he was handed a one year professional contract and ultimately made his first team debut as a second half substitute in a 2-1 loss at Southend on 26th March.

His dedication to the programme has earned him numerous plaudits, including LFE Regional Officer Darren Bloodworth who added: “He has been an absolutely top guy and deserves this award totally for his attitude over the last two years”.
