Bee’s Apprentices Pitch in at Learning Zone

Robin Nichols

League Two Apprentice of the Year nominee Robin Nichols has been doing his bit this season as links between the youth and community departments continue to flourish.

Robin and his team-mates have represented the clubs youth department, working alongside the learning team. Working on a rota basis, the players led by Robin, have willingly given their time to assist at the Learning Zone.

The Learning Zone, based at Griffin Park provides learning activities for young people across a range of ages. With players taking part in mock press conferences, interviews and reading clubs to help children from local schools with their literacy, the sessions have been an incredible success.

Jo Emmerson Education Manager – London Borough of Hounslow says;

“At a time when so much is spoken about the need for young people to have positive role models – Robin is an absolute shining example of just this.”

“You never see Robin without a smile on his face, the children really like meeting him, he is friendly and approachable.”

“He always goes that extra mile, staying on after his ‘appearances’ to take an interest in the childrens work which helps them out.”

“He is reliable, often stepping in when others have let us down. He is popular with staff and children alike.”
