Aaron Connolly has signed for Millwall from fellow Championship side Sunderland on a permanent deal.
The former Brighton apprentice becomes the Lions’ first signing of the Alex Neil era following the Scotsman’s arrival in December.
Connolly moves to the Den having found minutes hard to come by at the Stadium of Light after signing for the North East club last summer.
The 24-year-old is seen as a direct replacement for striker Tom Bradshaw who has signed for Oxford United.
Discussing the Republic of Ireland international’s move to Millwall, Alex Neil said: “I think obviously with Tom (Bradshaw) leaving it was a slot that we needed to fill.
“Aaron came on the stage at a really young age at Brighton and did really well. Even just over a year and a half ago he scored ten goals for Hull in the Championship, so we know he’s got good pedigree, he’s quite flexible in terms of where he can play, so it gives us an option at the top end of the pitch.
“We need more goals in the team, so hopefully he can bring that.”
