Deards Back at Walsall

Connor Deards has returned to Walsall after a successful loan spell with Redditch United in the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division.

The 18 year-old forward, who is a first year professional at the Banks’s Stadium, spent 2 months on loan at Redditch.

“I enjoyed my time there,” he told his club’s website.

“I got what I could out of it; I feel fitter, stronger and better for getting competitive games under my belt.”

“I also scored a couple of goals too and they seemed to like me there, so it was all positive.”

“I needed the move for my development. It’s okay training throughout the week, but having a game at the end of it has helped to increase my fitness levels and sharpness.”

“Watching the likes of Jamie Paterson and George Bowerman come through from the youth ranks to break into the first-team has given me inspiration.”

“They are good players and I want to be able to follow in their footsteps and make my mark here.”

Jake Jones remains on loan at Redditch, whilst Joey Butlin is at Sutton Coldfield Town and Jonny Haynes at Rushall Olympic.
