Nine former LFE apprentices played a part in England’s friendly match versus Brazil at Wembley on Saturday evening. The Three Lions were defeated 1-0 on the night by the south Americans.
Five former apprentices started the match, with four more coming on and a further four were unused substitutes.
Harry Maguire (ex Sheffield United apprentice), John Stones (ex Barnsley apprentice), Ben Chilwell (ex Leicester City apprentice), Jude Bellingham (ex Birmingham City apprentice) and Ollie Watkins (ex Exeter City apprentice) all started.
Lewis Dunk (ex Brighton apprentice), Ezri Konsa (ex Charlton apprentice), Joe Gomez (ex Charlton apprentice) and Jarrod Bowen (ex Hereford United apprentice) all entered the field as substitutes.
Jarred Branthwaite (ex Carlisle United apprentice), Aaron Ramsdale (ex Sheffield United apprentice), James Maddison (ex Coventry City apprentice) and Ivan Toney (ex Northampton Town apprentice) were all unused substitutes.
England host Belgium at Wembley tonight, which could see the aforementioned Jarred Branthwaite win his first senior England cap.
