FA Youth Cup First Round Draw Announced

Chesterfield’s Youth Team will be the first Football League club to kick-off their FA Youth Cup campaign next Tuesday night in the first round proper.

The Spireites take on Tamworth at the B2net (7pm) and will be wary of their West Midlands opposition who were the conquerors of Lincoln City in the final qualifying round.

Elsewhere the draw has thrown up eleven all Football League ties which includes local neighbours Rochdale and Oldham Athletic going head to head at Spotland. Sheffield Wednesday will make the journey across the Pennines and up to Cumbria to face Carlisle Utd while their city neighbours and last season’s finalists Sheffield Utd will travel to Tranmere Rovers.

Scunthorpe Utd host Huddersfield Town and MK Don’s will hope to get over their defensive frailties when they take on Walsall after conceding 26 goals in their last five league matches.
